Podcast Lessons Learned
I have just recorded my tenth podcast episode and what a journey I have been on. As of writing, eight are live on the podcast, and two are still being edited to be released in the coming weeks.
What I have learned is that we as a community have remained in the shadows far too long. And by community, I mean (and by no means exclusively at all), older crossdressers, millennials and upward, but mostly GenX’ers, like me.
Like the GenX moniker suggests, we do appear to be the hidden or lost generation. And so many of us do this in a miniskirt, heels and delightfully naughty nylons.
So my podcast, if you are interested in how I do it.
The process has become increasingly sophisticated and complex, starting with recording it in Riverside. I have a nice Rhode mic and guests use whatever they have.
That means I usually sweeten the guest audio with Adobe Podcast software, which is pretty astonishing.
I then take my voice (and sometimes the guests too) and feminise it using Eleven Labs. The software will only work in five minute chunks so this takes a looooooooog time.
Next I edit it in Adobe Premiere. Annoyingly I have found that I need to export a WAV and convert that iTunes for a very clean MP3 (Adobe seems to spit out MP3 files with VBR which my platform hates).
Then I need to tag it in MP3 Tag, do the artwork in Canva, add the art to the MP3 file and upload to HubHopper which is where I host the podcast.
Next I make show notes and Timestamps, which I do using Podsqueeze, and finally I can publish it.
Now that I have setup the RSS feed too, new episodes go directly to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and other platforms.
Lastly I share the new episode with the community, and rather frustratingly, Instagram seems to no longer allow one hour videos, so I cant share the whole episode there.
Of course, the other challenge is attracting guests to come on the show and speak.
It’s not a full time job.
Yet.
But it’s certainly a thing!
All that said, I adore doing it, I love hearing from you, and I am not going to stop!
What will REALLY help me is just leaving feedback, comments or star ratings wherever you listen to it. This ALL helps validate the podcast for those bigger named guests that I am approaching now.
OK gurls. Thank you again. You can listen to the latest episode below and all the episodes are on my site HERE.
Catch every episode of Gurl Talk: start with Episode One or jump to the latest episodes. Plus read real crossdresser stories in the 2025 Survey.
I live for all things feminine—stockings, heels, scarlet nails, and above all, the intoxicating touch of another woman. A translesbian muse and unapologetic hedonist, I share my most divine and wicked misadventures in words and now as a podcaster too. All gurls welcome. You are gorgeous. Just like me. xxx
