Social Media and Censorship
I just had another video removed from TikTok for breaking community guidelines. While I do understand social media platforms want some regulation, the execution does seem random, punitive even, but most of all, completely unaware of it’s own rule breaking.
All of this on the back of my socials continuing to grow at a massive rate. I am close to 10m views in the last month and one video getting over a million views.
However, I am of course skating on thin ice. I could get shadow banned or fully banned.
So. Have I read the community guidelines for any platform? No. Why would I? They don’t make sense and most importantly, there is no credible right to appeal. It really is ‘computer says no’.
I have learned to dodge shadow banning, like the way modern social media vernacular evolves phrases like ‘unaliving’, ‘corn’ or ‘shcmatsis’ to avoid the Insta and tiktok police. Having had multiple accounts on Instagram deleted overnight, with no real warning, I am used to it.
I have to draw one line though.
I need to point a GIANT red arrow at the cognitive dissonance, especially on TikTok.
Yesterday I got another video on TikTok removed for community guidelines. I can’t show it here as it’s banned, but I also put it on Insta with the same wording. You can see it here on this page. What got it banned? Possibly the URL? Otherwise, I have no idea.
However, what really sticks in my throat is the music tracks that TikTok tends to suggest for my videos…
Here are some sample lyrics…
“My neck, my back, lick my pussy and my crack” by Khia.
“I don’t wanna spit, I wanna gulp, I wanna gag, I wanna choke, I want you to touch that lil’ dangly thing that swing in the back of my throat” by ‘WAP’ and Cardi B.
“Do you like the way I flick my tongue or nah? You can ride my face until you’re drippin’ cum” by Ty Dolla $ign
“I gave you the messiest head” by Halsey
“Pu-pu-pussy for breakfast, that’s how I start my day, my dick is a pen, it’s written all over her face” by Jeremih
Le sigh.
I am all for freedom of speech and stand with Dee Snyder on this.
See the video below from the famous hearing where heavy metal wiped the floor with American politics. Awesome and I will forever love ‘Twisted Sister’ for this.
But can we have that same freedom for our videos too? Why does music not only get a free pass, but actually gets promoted and elevated? I mean I know why of course. Money.
For me personally I don’t need to go anywhere near this hardcore for socials, but please, can we have CLEAR RULES for everyone? And if you are going to suggest music for me, can you align with your own rules?
Rant over.
Kisses in heels.
