When did you start writing books and what was your inspiration for it?
I started writing in 2021 though writing a book has long been a dream of mine. My final push and inspiration to try was my partner who, while they enjoy our shared kinks, grew tired of listening to me talk about it constantly. They told me I needed to find a new outlet for it all so I started my blog, www.malechastitylife.com, and my stories blossomed from there.
What was your first book that you wrote?
My first book was Becoming a Sissy Maid: Unlocking Hidden Desires.
Why did you decide to become an author?
It has long been a dream to have such a creative outlet to express myself. I never thought I would end up writing in this genre, but I love that I stumbled into it.
What has been the high point of your career?
Definitely the release and reception of my first book. Finally becoming a published author was a massive personal accomplishment for me and then actually seeing people buy it, and continue to buy it over the years, has meant a lot to me.
What are your favorite stories to write?
Chastity and femdom are definitely my predominant story themes, but no matter what I write, my stories always seem to end up involving sissy maids. I love the dynamic of sissy maids and their mistresses and writing their origin stories. I like to add a little of my personal experiences into each one.
How much of your work is based on personal experience versus fantasy?
My work is a good mix of both. Some stories include more personal than fantasy and vice versa.
What is your favorite book that you have written?
Probably my Forced to be a Sissy Maid series. I happened to be rewatching Seinfeld when I first got into writing and I was inspired by the episode when they are working on their pilot. Forced to be a Sissy Maid gets its idea from that and was a lot of fun to write.
Do you have a writing routine?
I don’t have a lot of free time on most days, so I just try to squeeze in as much as I can, whenever I can. Ultimately my goal is to write and proof read at least one chapter per day, usually writing in the morning and proof reading in the evening.
What’s the secret to a strong title and great cover art?
Your title is your strongest attention grabber. In my opinion it needs to be short, sweet, and to the point. Tell the reader what the story is about in just a few words. As far as the cover art, make it topical to the story while also sexy.
Do you enjoy hearing from readers?
Yes! I wish I heard more from them.
What is your best selling book, and do you know why it sells so well?
Becoming a Sissy Maid is my best selling book and also my longest book. I’ve always assumed it has sold better because of the length, but part of me hopes it is because of the story itself. It is the book that I put the most of myself into and hope people appreciate it for that reason.
How do you keep your ideas and stories fresh?
I had to take a long break off of writing recently because I felt my ideas were getting stale and the process had lost its fun. I needed to clear my mind and find new inspirations. After some fun new experiences lately, I finally found the inspiration I needed to get back in the game.
Do you friends and family know that you are an erotic author? If so, how did they react when they found out?
My partner knows though I don’t let them read! No one else knows because I find my stories quite personal and I’m not ready to share that side of myself yet.
What mistakes have you made in your career?
Writing has always been an outlet for me and while I like knowing that people are buying and reading my stories, that hasn’t always been my priority. I often wish that I had spent a lot more time and effort into marketing and promoting my stories.
What advice would you offer a writer who wants to embark or a successful erotica career?
Just do it. Write to your heart’s content. Even if you have no background in writing, you will learn the more you write and get a better feel for what sounds good the more you proof read your own work. Also just read a lot from all genres. I have definitely found inspiration for my writing style through some very unlikely authors and books!
