Gurl Talk With Jenny Raven Podcast Re-Heeled: Who Do YOU Want To Hear From?

The last six months have been a huge challenge and I have finally moved home. I am not out of the woods yet, but the end is in sight.

One of my first jobs is to re-engage with the podcast, and to that end, I am seeking new guests. So who would you like to hear from?

The boxes are mostly unpacked. The good heels survived the move, though two pairs of the cheap ones did not. The microphone is back on the desk where it belongs, and Gurl Talk is coming back.

Before I start filling the diary, I want to ask you first, because a podcast that only ever features the people I happen to know is a very small podcast indeed.

Three kinds of guest I am after

The experts

People who actually know the things the rest of us are quietly guessing at.

Voice coaches. Makeup artists who have looked at a five o’clock shadow and not flinched. Wig makers. Corsetry and shapewear people. Photographers who can make a first shoot feel safe instead of terrifying. Therapists and counsellors who work with gender, identity and all the lovely mess in between. Electrologists. Anyone who can explain why a size eleven foot is treated as a national emergency by most shoe shops.

The trade next door

The adjacent industries that a great many of us have brushed up against, usually in private and usually at two in the morning.

Mistresses and dommes who work with sissies and crossdressers. Latex and fetish designers. Escorts and workers who see what people really want once the door is shut. Toy makers. Erotica publishers, cover designers and narrators. Hypnotists. The people who run dressing services and studio days.

They have a front row seat on desire, and almost nobody asks them a decent question about it. I would like to be the one who does.

You

Honestly, the best episodes tend to be the simplest. One girl telling the truth about her own life.

The first time you shaved your legs and had to explain it. The wardrobe your wife knows about, or the one she does not. Coming out at twenty two, or at sixty two. The friend who surprised you by being lovely about it. The joyful parts as well as the bruising ones, because there is far more joy in this world of ours than the internet ever gives us credit for.

You do not need to be famous, polished or photogenic. You need to be honest. I will handle the rest.

What being a guest actually involves

  • A chat over a call, usually forty five minutes to an hour, recorded as audio only. No camera unless you want one.
  • Use your gurl name, your legal name, or a name you invent on the spot. Entirely your choice.
  • I send the themes through in advance. No ambush questions, ever.
  • Anything you wish you had not said comes out in the edit. You only have to tell me.
  • You get a heads up before it goes live, always.

I have been on the other side of a microphone plenty of times. I know exactly how it feels to worry that you will say something foolish. Nobody has ever come off my show sounding foolish, and I intend to keep that record.

So, tell me

Leave a comment below, reply to the newsletter, or use the contact page. Any of the three reaches me. Or email me at jenny at jennyraven.com

Nominate someone. Give me a name, a website, a Literotica handle, a YouTube channel, or a mistress whose site you have lingered on far longer than you intended. If she is worth hearing from, I will write and ask her nicely.

Or nominate yourself. If the person you want to hear from is you, just say “put me on the list” and I will take it from there. Not one person has ever regretted sending me that email.

I have spent six months living out of cardboard boxes and being polite to letting agents. I am ready to talk about lipstick and longing again.

Who do you want to hear from?

Jenny x
